Our Mission

Founded in January of 2015, Upper Peninsula Shakespeare Festival’s mission is to provide the people of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and beyond with bold, engaging productions of Shakespeare’s plays, to build upon and support local arts and culture, and to promote the appreciation of timeless literature by all people.

In January of 2018, a subsidiary of UPShakes’ was created with the intention of creating provocative, relevant and captivating modern theatre in the Upper Peninsula- Wolf’s Head Theater Company.

UPShakes’/Wolf’s Head is a 501(3)(c) non-profit, sustaining itself off of ticket sales, donations and sponsorships and operating as the Upper Peninsula’s only professional theatre organization.

Our company offers a professional theatre experience that illuminates, challenges and connects our audience with the shared human experience.

Together, we tell stories of old and new that will leave a mark: Theatre with a bite.
